一、技術總結

1. Fourier transform(傅里葉變換)

In mathematics, the Fourier transform (FT) is an integral transform that takes a function as input then outputs another function that describes the extent to which various frequencies are present in the original function.

當看到 Fourier 一下沒反應過了是“傅里葉”， 那就記一下吧。

二、英語總結(生詞：3)

1. elicit

(1)elicit: e-("out") + -licere("to entice, lure, deceive, 誘惑")

vt. elicit literally means "to draw out by enticing"; to call forth or draw out sth(引起，引發，引出)。

(2)示例

We also need to be clear about whether we are discussing the running time for an input that elicits the worst-case behavior, the best-case behavior, or some other case(《《算法導論(第4版)》》第 26 頁)。

上面這句話的意思是：我們還需要明確我們討論的是哪種情況下的算法運行時間：是輸入引發最優行為的情況，還是輸入引發最差行為的情況，亦或是其它情況。

2. educated

(1)educated

adj. 1. having an education(受過教育的)。2. 比喻意義用法：based on some knowledge of fact(有根據的，有依據的)。

(2)示例

You need not make some educated guess about the running time and hope that it never gets much worse(《《算法導論(第4版)》》第 31 頁)。

上面這句話的意思是：你無需對運行時間做出某種有根據的猜測，您也無需擔心運行時間會變得更長。

3. fairly

(1)fair

adj. 1. impartial and justice(公平的，合理的)。2. moderately numerous, large, or significant(相當的)。

(2)fairly: fair + -ly

adv. 1. justly(公平地)。2. to a moderately high degree，less than very(相當地，表示程度的副詞)。

(3)示例

For some algorithms, the worst case occurs fairly often(《《算法導論(第4版)》》第 31 頁)。

因為“公平地”和“相當地”意思相差有點大，同時我只記住了"公平"，導致自己每次看到 fairly 腦子都要卡一下——“公平地”意思說不通啊，單詞沒有記錯吧？這里捋一下。
